Happy Weekend!

My first weekend at St. Andrews was a good one I must say. I got up a tad bit late...more like afternoon, and got going. I went into town and got some kitchen supplies and some freshly squeezed juice. It was simply amazing. They were a tad low on oranges, so I got mostly orange juice with a little apple as well. Delicious. I met another flatmate today, Alex I think. He's an Asian guy with a British accent! Simply stunning! :D He was very nice and likes videogames; I won't have trouble with him, plus he said I could come play! I had dinner tonight at The Raisin as I got a voucher for a free burger and chips last time I was there. It was really good and I was able to hang out with people and get to know them. I've found that it will be quite difficult to make friends unless you go out. It's what everyone does here. Tonight someone told me that the culture here is to work really hard at academia from 9-5 and then quit; the night is for partying. Now, I am not used to that kind of stuff and usually study late so we'll see how that goes. I have also found it is the culture here to drive small cars and drive them very fast down narrow roads with no regard for pedestrians. You need to look right, left, then right once more. It's sometimes hard to remember and I look the wrong way sometimes...it's damn unsafe.

After the Raisin, we found a new pub we hadn't been at which is good...I don't want to keep going to the same ones over and over. First we tried one but it was full and then we went to The Vic. It was pretty neat...kind of weird dancing going on but maybe that's common at pubs, and bars too I guess...I'm not quite down with stuff like that yet. We then headed to the Union and just hung out there until my friends (who don't live anywhere close to me...) headed back and I came with because I thought I might be able to see their rooms and stuff...so we got there and I couldn't get in the building because I don't live there....dang! I had just walked a long ways for nothing and had a good half hour walk ahead of me back to Gatty (Albany Park). Good thing St. Andrews isn't too big.

I'm going to church tomorrow and its at 11 so I've got plenty of time in the morn. The Catholic church is on the Scores all the way down so I'll need to plan accordingly to get there on time. Afterwards, I'm gonna try my debit card at Starbucks as thats what my dad plans to drink while he is here and I don't want them to get here witn no use of a debit card!

Time to talk to my darling Justine! I am excited! :D Goodnight!
