Let's make wasted trips!

Today I spent a lot of time somehow making trips that ended up not being useful. I started this morning going to St Andrews castle and getting a Historic Scotland membership. With this, I don't have to pay any more to get into any Historic Scotland properties, such as the castle, Stirling Castle, and Edinburgh Castle. After that, I went to Leuchars to the train station there to buy a Young Person's Railcard and my ticket to Edinburgh to pick Justine up next Friday! I got there via a ten minute bus ride and asked the ticket guy for it and I needed a photograph...yeah, I didn't bring one...there goes 6 dollars down the drain for the bus ticket...well ok, not a big deal. I got back to St Andrews and went to the University Travel people at the Union to get my International Student Identity Card which gives you discounts on stuff. I walked in and everything was good until she said...'do you have a photograph?'...ugh..no! However, I didn't need to make another trip to Leuchars because I could get my railcard there also, so I had to walk back to Albany Park and get two photographs...so the other thing on my list today was to finish registering with a doctor (as a student, you get free health care but you need to register). I ate a little at home and walked to the Health Center on the other side of town. When I got there, the lady said they didn't have my forms, (which was fine, they weren't hard to fill out) so I filled out new ones when another lady came and found them after I had finished the new ones. The lady then proceeds to tell me that I really didn't need to register unless I needed health care...a long walk and a big waste of time.

After that pleasantry, I went back to the Union and got my ISIC and railcard and also bought my ticket to Edinburgh there...much more convienient than going to Leuchars! I then stopped at Tesco and got some food to make at home and found my way back there. I made some broccoli soup tonight! Dad, you'd be proud:D
