Greetings from Scotland! Right now, I am in St. Andrews in my house at 32 Albany Park, but I shall recap the recent days journeys....
On Feb. 2nd, my family and I drove down to Milwaukee to stay with my grandpa before I boarded my plane to Newark, NJ. This way, I wouldn't need to get up very early the next morning and could instead take my time and eat breakfast and spend time with my family. The next day, my family and I went to Ponderosa for Sunday brunch before departing to General Mitchell Airport. Once we got to the airport, we checked in my luggage and was pleasantly surprised when they allowed my family to go through security and see me off at the gate! It was very nice! So when the time came, my mom cried as I went on the plane and I could see them when I began taking off. It was a sad moment but it felt good to be doing something significant like this. I hadn't been on a plane since I was a wee laddie but the plane was not bad at all.
We arrived to Newark about 45 minutes early, which I could have done without as I already had about 4 hours to wait until my next flight. I was also very confused with where I was supposed to be. I finally figured out that I needed to take the monorail to a different terminal to get to Virgin Atlantic's hub. I met up with other Butler University students who were traveling with me to London and we waited and waited and waited...finally we were able to board our huge plane and get off to London. We were treated very well on the plane and were able to watch movies and play games on screens in our seats. I wanted to watch a movie that Justine and I like to watch but for some reason they didn't have any...I decided to watch the recent Die Hard movie. We got a nice meal and complimentary wine. It was nice...
So we land in London and go through customs which wasn't hard at all and board another plane to land in Edinburgh, Scotland. All in all, I had to go through security 3 times...it was a pain in the butt. Once landed in Edinburgh, we got our luggage and were transported to the Apex International Hotel where we were to have orientation.
I will write more about orientation later and about St. Andrews too. Right now I am so very tired...Cheers!
