Walking hurts!

Today was matriculation and of course, my chosen modules somehow had to conflict. Quantum mechanics conflicted with my Greek class I wanted to take. Eventually, I opted out of QM and took main group chemistry instead. I can wait to take QM with the new Ripon prof. So I started off my day with some coffee at a place called Beansomething...I can't think of the name and the only name coming to mind is Beansnappers, which is not what it is. It was really good! I walked around some more and eventually matriculated, got my ID card and made an appt. to see my advisor later in the day to fix my classes. I went down to the Scores and walked along the Old Course for a little with my friends Calen and Katie. We walked back and there is a path across the 18th hole of the Old Course and you are supposed to not get hit. There were some golfers relatively close but it didn't look like they were shooting so I decided to go...well I almost got hit with the ball. The ball was within 10 feet of me and I didn't even see it until it landed. It was a close one... I then bought some school supplies (it is very hard to find college ruled paper! I opted for plain...) and headed off for my meeting. Once I got to the chem building I had some time to burn so I decided to walk around the building. Well...I got lost quite quickly and had to be directed the way out; I obviously looked lost. It's loads easier now! :) I wanted to try a path I found on the map which seemed to be a faster way to Albany Park. It was a neat little footpath with awesome houses on both sides. It was very beautiful. I would probably stay away from there at night though...

I decided instead of going back to Albany Park, I would find my other divinity class. I walked past it once but I found it. It is a gorgeous courtyard called St. Mary's College. After that, I wanted to find the Catholic Church and I did, and proceeded to walk past the Castle ruins and along the shore past the Cathedral ruins and cemetary. I finally arrived back in Albany Park.

I met another flatmate today. He was much nicer to me and gave me hope for the others. I think he told me the other two I haven't met are also Asian (as he is). I also found out I need to buy some dishes tomorrow...just a plate, a bowl, and a cup should do. I guess a fork and spoon and knife would also be good.

Tonight I am going to the weekly BOP. I really don't know what I am in for but it sounds interesting. I guess it's like a disco...or some kind of dance they have every Friday. I'll keep you posted.

Here are the links to my pictures thus far!
